The Youth Pride Prom is a FREE event created in collaboration with our Youth Leadership Committee. The YPP will be a space where 2SLGBTQ+ youth can express themselves freely without fear of discrimination or exclusion.
PRIDE PROM 2025
In June 2025, our Youth Leadership Committee did an incredible job of hosting their first-ever Youth Pride Prom, with the theme “The Enchanted Garden Dance.”
This event was a huge success, with nearly 70 students registering to join the evening.
These Queer youth and allies had an amazing prom night, with access to community, music, dancing, mental health supports, quiet spaces with calming activities, arts and crafts, a prayer space, drag performers, a photo booth, and tons of snacks made available by some of our incredible sponsors for the evening!
We are so grateful to have been able to host and provide an evening filled with Queer Joy for youth. Although we see many folks redoing their prom experience in adulthood, we were honored to be able to provide an amazing experience the first time around for these students.

THE FACILITATORS
Max (he/they) & Wren (they/them) are a dynamic duo who will be guiding the Youth Leadership Committee in the planning process of the Youth Pride Prom, fostering leadership skills and empowering young queer voices.
The Youth Leadership Committee is for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and allies in Grades 9-12 who are passionate about making their school and broader community a more affirming and engaging place for 2SLGBTQ+ youth. In addition to fostering leadership skills, empowering your voice, and building community, the YLC will plan, organize and host our second annual Youth Pride Prom!
A few details about the YLC:
• The group will meet monthly starting in January 2026 (except for 2 meetings in June)
• Meetings will be a mix of virtual and in person
• Members will get a welcome kit, food, transportation, volunteer hours, and a Get REAL certificate
Applicants in the Halton and Peel regions, as well as those with intersecting underrepresented identities will be prioritized.
In 2023, our amazing friend Harrison Browne approached us with a generous offer: he wanted to donate his tuxedo to a student in need for prom. This sparked an overwhelming response on social media, highlighting a clear demand for initiatives that provide suits to trans and gender-diverse individuals.
And so, Gender Joy: Prom was born! In 2024, we partnered with Harry Rosen to give seven 2SLGBTQ+ high school students the opportunity to receive custom-tailored suits that reflected their unique style for prom.
