VIRTUAL CAREER CONFERENCE
How do you define barriers for eligibility?
Our barriers for eligibility are based on the Canada Government’s Canada Summer Job grant, and added in a few more of our own, such as “International Student”.
The conference is meant to be wide-reaching for any university or college student who faces marginalization in the workplace.
If you really want to attend but aren't sure if you will be eligible, or you believe that you should be eligible but not for one of the barrier criteria you are seeing on our application, please don’t hesitate to reach out to info@thegetrealmovement.com.
While this conference is meant to prioritize students who face one or more barriers in the workplace, our team will evaluate requests on a case by case basis.
Do I currently have to be a
post-secondary student?
Yes, however if you are a student that graduated between 1/2 years ago we will take your application into consideration.
Is this conference relevant for students who already have jobs secured, or only for students currently job-seeking?
This conference is absolutely relevant for both students who are job seeking *and* for students who in general want to strengthen their professional skills and professional networks. It is not like a career fair, in this way.
How will I know if I got selected?
Our team will contact selected candidates through email.
Does everyone who participate get a Welcome Kit?
If selected you will have the to opportunity to sign up to get a Welcome Kit, which consists of a Get REAL Crewneck, Breakfast and Lunch.
First 100 Students who follow the opt-in guidelines for the Welcome Kit will receive the kit. Further steps will be communicated once your application has been approved.
